Grandma Mable My grandma had the worst singing voice ever. She sounded like a cat being drowned. But I LOVED when she would sing to me. When I think of her, I picture her sitting in her chair, rocking back and forth. She has on her house dress and slippers, with her white hair up in curls. She has on her granny glasses, and she pushes them out on her nose and looks below the lenses while she sews a quilt. And she sings, "You get a line, I'll get a pole honeyyyyyyyyyyyyy......you get a line, I'll get a pole, baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabe. You get a line, I'll get a pole...we'll go down to the crawdad hole....honey, baaaaaaaaaaaaaby, miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine". And I always remember her telling me, "Grandma loves her babies. Oh, yes, grandma loves her sweet babies". Your sweet baby loves you, too, Grandma I mean no offense to her voice, it is just that she would always sing in such a silly voice trying to get us to laugh and that is how i remember it. I know that she had the most amazing singing voice given to her by our Heavenly Father.

I can not describe how much my grandmother meant to me. I was always her "sweet baby" or her "sweet angel". I remember spending a couple weeks with her in the summer. We snapped beans, and we made a quilt together. She loved her children and grandchildren more than words could say. I loved spending time with her, especially in the kitchen. She loved to teach us how to cook, and she did not want anything to go to waste. I love to cook, and love to feed the ones that I love, just as she did. When we came to visit there was always something on the stove ready when we got there. Then the counter was filled with home made treats. If she even thought that we wanted something other than the treats she already made she would make us whatever we wanted. She always wanted to give us everything we wanted, she loved to give. We all love her so much and we will miss her. However we know without a doubt that she is in the Heaven that our Father has made for us where she can no longer feel pain, or sorrow. Then I'll hear your beautiful voice sing the song I've heard you sing a million times before "What a friend we have in Jesus". Every night when I crawl into bed, I'll think of you and how much love you put into the quilts that you made for us. When I get the chance to pass them down to my children, I'll make sure they understand how priceless they are and who they came from. I hope that I can become as wonderful of a Lady as you were. - Love you always.
